The Bookmark Tool

Last updated on June 17, 2014

The Bookmark tool lets you create navigable bookmarks in a document. These are useful for making notes, or for simply keeping track of important locations within a document. They can be viewed in list form from the Navigation Panel.

The annotation ribbon for the Bookmark tool has two buttons:

  • Options: allows you to change the bookmark's color.
  • Done | Cancel: tap the "x" to exit the annotation mode before you start, or the check-mark to finish an annotation.
  •

The editing ribbon for the Bookmark tool has four buttons:

  • Note: allows you to edit the comment* attached to the bookmark.
  • Options: allows you to change the bookmark's color.
  • Delete: allows you to delete the bookmark from your document.
  • Done: tap the check-mark to finish the editing session.
*Bookmark comments are auto-populated with the PDF page number. Select this text to remove or modify it.

Tips When Using the Bookmark Tool

You can view all of your bookmarks in list form using the Navigation Panel. Slide the Navigation Panel open from the left. Then, tap the Outline accordion to display both the document's PDF outline (if applicable) and all bookmarks created in it. This list is scrollable and selectable: tapping any bookmark therein will take you to its location in the document.
